I was robbed... robbed the moment I stepped into this store. Somehow, I walk out with 12 books in my hands for only $110 :) Giving books a second chance is so sweet.

This store is a gem. I love exploring, perusing, and almost always end up getting something. Extremely friendly staff, plenty of selection, and pretty well organized. It’s hard to imagine someone disliking this place. Book worms and readers will love this store!

Great place to buy and sell books! They also have lots of other cool stuff (music, games, art supplies, etc.) This particular store is pretty well kept and organized. The people who work here are also very nice and helpful. Check it out if you ever get a chance. If you’re like me, you could also just chill and have a seat on the chairs located at the front of the store while you’re gf spends hours looking through books 😅

Decided to stop here before hitting the road to go back home! They have a great selection of books/cds/vinyl and even dvds! I was able to find a few box sets of older shows I used to enjoy as well.

New to Houston and first-time in this store. Great experience. Very nice selection. Went in only to inquire about selling books. I'm a book hoarder. Did not intend to shop. Got the info I needed quickly. Could not help myself. Explored the clearance rack. Found the perfect cookbook, I didn't know I needed. For grins, wanted to see if they had books from an author in my hometown of Bastrop. Checked the philosophy section, nope. Got prompt friendly service from the clerk who checked the inventory. She walked me over to self-help section and they had three Ryan Holiday books. He's authored over 20 and not the one I wanted, so no purchase. Better for me to meet him in person and support his bookstore, anyway. But if you want lower cost... HPB is your stop. Can't wait to do a purge of my bookshelf and see how that goes.

First time going to HPB, so many books! Went looking for some books I really wanted for a series I love and found them at a good price since they're used. They also had new books and majority of the books are in good conditions. I didn't know they had a sale going on and glad I went when I did. I needed help on some other things and the employees were very polite and knowledgeable, will be going back for more books. 🙃

It is my first time at this half price book store. I am surprised that they have a lot of good books and most of them is in so good condition. I got my 3 favorit books and they are almost like brand new books. I regret i havent found this place sooner cause i spent so much for new books at barn and noble. The cashier was very nice and helpful. I will definitely be back for sure.

Well organized, ambiance was warm and cozy. Had plenty of categories to choose from. The buy back program was fast and friendly.
